Sew Your Own Way: Your Project, Your Pace, Our Guidance

\\You Can Sew Your Own Wayyyyyy…\\This is the perfect class for people who want some support for levelling up their sewing skills with tailored (pun intended) guidance and advice.

We keep the class size small so you get plenty of attention.

You can bring along a project you’re working on OR you can work on one of our specially selected projects with our guidance.

You can book for just one class or book a bundle to come to a few.

We welcome sewers of all levels, including beginners but you do need to know the basics, like how to thread the machine. (We won’t have scope to show you this during the session, come to one of our [absolute beginners courses](https://www.makemeestudio.co.uk/adults) if that’s what you need.)

From January we will be running Mondays 18.30 - 20.30 & Wednesdays 19.00 - 21.00 every week!

We are increasing the number of sessions will give you more opportunities to book & more flexibility.

NEW FOR 2026 - In addition to bringing your own project to Sew Your Own Way, you can now also book our popular next steps dressmaking courses as project bundles and tackle them whenever you want! This is perfect for people that want to have a little more structure to these sessions or for people who wanted to join the courses below but couldn’t make a fixed course!

• We have also increased the time you have for the project & reduced the costs, win, win win!

• Just choose your project, book your bundle, choose your dates, (they don’t have to be consecutive weeks, make the course work for you!) We just ask that you use the bundle sessions within 3 months.

• We’ve predicted how long on average we think each project will take, some people may be quicker which means you get an extra session to freestyle. Or you may need to top up with another session depending on how quickly you work.

Nothing’s changed for our regulars who like to bring their own work, we’ve just added more structure for people who want a clearer sewing path.Our Sew Your Own sessions (formerly sewing surgeries) will give you the help you need to make progress on tricky projects while taking the time to unwind with your sewing. Bring along a query or a project of your choice and our experienced teachers will be there to guide you on your way.

Who's it for

These sessions are for people of all sewing abilities who need some guidance or a boost of confidence. You need some sewing experience but we’re also happy to give you a refresher if you’re a bit rusty.

Materials

We have a selection of fabrics and trims in the studio which you can purchase or you can bring your own. You can bring your own machine if you want to practise on it or use ours.
