Adventurous Beginners: Make A Jumpsuit

This is one of our personal favourite patterns! The Paper Theory Zadie Jumpsuit is a stylish, relaxed wrap over jumpsuit. There are no fastenings, just a tie but this means it’s a great pattern to leap into the world of adapting and adjusting a pattern to suit your preferences. You can make a long or short sleeve version.

You’ll learn how to make your own binding or create your own facing, we’ll be sewing pleats and adding slanted trouser pockets.

If you’re thinking, jumpsuits never fit me, we can help! We’ve chosen this pattern to run as one of our courses as the genius Tara over at Paper Theory has designed it in a way that makes it easy to adapt the fit.

We'll spend dedicated time teaching you how to adapt the pattern for your body. We’ll discuss the importance of body rise and making sure you’ve got good coverage in the bodice.

This course is suitable for adventurous beginners. We do ask that you can thread and use a sewing machine to take part in this course, even if you have very basic knowledge! If you think you’ll just need a quick reminder that’s fine.

If you want to take on this challenge but can’t use a sewing machine yet. Book on to our beginners learn to sew a cushion or a tote before you start.

You can work at your own pace, we have plenty to keep you occupied whatever your level. We know clothes making can seem like a daunting prospect at first but it's easy when you know how! It gives you the opportunity to be unique and creative with your style. It's a great way to relax and unwind, make new creative friends and you can become part of the growing Make Mee Community.
