We all have that item of clothing. It could be the one that gets you compliments every time you wear it, or the one that makes you feel effortlessly like yourself. It may even be the comfiest item in your wardrobe!
In this class, you’ll create a paper pattern based on an existing garment to stitch up in multiple colours or with different materials. Through this, you’ll get to grips with some basic skills to then apply to other items in your closet. The possibilities are endless!
We won’t be doing any sewing in this class. If you’d like to turn your pattern into a completed garment, why not do it while making new friends at our [Sewcial?](https://www.makemeestudio.co.uk/thesewcial) Our teachers will be on-hand to guide you if you get stuck.
Who's it for:
This course is suitable for sewers who have made garments using commercial patterns before. Beginners are encouraged to check out our[ Learn To Sew ](https://www.makemeestudio.co.uk/learn-to-sew-envelope-cushion) course or our [Learn to Sew: Casual Basics ](https://www.makemeestudio.co.uk/Clothesmaking#Casual) course.
Materials + Equipment
We recommend bringing 3-4 options for the garment that you would like to copy. Our experienced teachers will help you select the right item depending on your sewing ability. Stretch items or more structured woven garments are a good starting point for copying. Flimsy, silk or chiffon fabrics can be trickier to work with.
All other tools and equipment will be provided.
